Puerto Rican Cuisine

The famous Rice with pigeons peas (arroz con gandules) it's made with the famous 'sofrito', tomato sauce, sazón goya, water, rice, salt, pork, sweet peppers and oil. It's very delicious.

The Famous 'Morcillas' are made with pork intestines. The instestines are stuffed with rice, pork blood and Puerto Rican hot sauce (pique). They are fried and served.

The famous Roasted Pork (lechón asa'o). Puerto Ricans use a metal bar or a wooden stick that goes through the mouth and out the other end to cook the whole pig. After it's cooked it is cut in pieces and is ready to eat.

The famous 'pasteles'. It is made with yuca or viandas(roots) stuffed with chicken or pork . The secret is to eat it with ketchup. Delicious!!!!

Boqueron Beach (Playa de Boquerón)

Cabo Rojo is situated in the southern and most western part of the island. You would need a few days in Cabo Rojo to visit all the beaches. All the beaches in Cabo Rojo are calm, with azure waters and white sand and very family friendly. Here you can enjoy all types of enviroments. Cabo Rojo is a very active place, you wont get bored.

Guilligan's Island Cayo Aurora, Guánica


Gilligan's is a spectacular bay, offers beautiful beaches, hiking, diving, snorkeling and forest areas.
Gilligan's Island is one of the offshore treasures of Puerto Rico. "Gilligan's Island" is just one mile off the coast of the municipality of Guanica. Still today, a very small percentage of travelers get to explore this beautiful relaxing haven.
There is a small ferry service from the San Jacinto Restaurant and hang out for the day. Don't forget to try the famous empanadas in the restaurant. Try to get early in the morning and you will enjoy the whole day in this paradise.

Aguadilla




Founded in 1775 by Luis de Córdova, is a city located in the northwestern tip of Puerto Rico bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, north of Aguada, and Moca and west of is Aguadilla is spread over 15 wards and Aguadilla Pueblo (The downtown area and the administrative center of the city). It is a principal city of the Aguadilla-Isabela-San Sebastián Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Aguadilla has been the recipient of the "Best Quality of Life Award", given by the National Mayor Association, in 2002 and 2004.

Culebra island (Isla Culebra)

Culebra island is a beautiful place to enjoy the freshness of the blue water.
You will find white sandy beaches, coral beaches, dark sandy beaches, shallow and deep coral reefs and many rocky points surrounding Culebra.
In this island there are a few beaches:
Flamenco Beach - is by far the most popular beach in Culebra. Culebrita - is the largest cay east of Culebra.Dakity Bay - by boat, canoe, kayak, Malena - is a quiet beach part of the Nature Reserve, easy to reach from road to Punta Soldado.Melones - favorite amongst many snorkeling enthusiasts. This coral beach can be reached easily by foot from town!Mosquito - is a quiet beach with road access and a little bit of shade, there is a beautiful reef to snorkle in at both ends of Mosquito.
Sardinas - super close to town, here you don't have to travel far, the water is calm and there are fish to see and catch.
Punta Soladado- is a lovely quiet beach made up of small pebbles. Swimming and snorkling are great in this tiny beach, from here you have a beautiful view of Vieques and the main island of Puerto Rico.
Zoni - this is a quiet beach with public access facing Northeast, with a great view of Culebrita, North Cay and St. Thomas.

You get to Culebra from Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands by private boat, yacht, ferry from Fajardo or local airlines.

Vieque's island (Isla de Vieques)


Vieques a small island south east of Puerto Rico, known as "The Nena island", has several bio luminescent bodies of water. The Puerto Mosquito, who is known as the bio luminescent bay, is the most luminous. Its luminescence is one of the few places in the world in which the phenomenon occurs.
Vieques can be reached by boat or small aircraft from Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands. The boat trip takes about an hour, the plane just a few minutes.
If you are looking for a vacation in the tropics that is truly a break, Vieques is the place. Be sure to make reservations in advance, and enjoy your stay.
